This calligraphy packet features "登鹳雀楼 (Climbing the Stork Tower)", a famous Chinese poem over 1200 years old.

Learning objective

Through this packet, students will learn to:

  1. Appreciate the poem and the culture behind

  3. Strengthen their handwriting in Chinese characters

  • The structure of a character - Chinese characters are NOT pictures. Instead, they are put together by blocks, just like Lego. To perfect one's handwriting, they need to pay attention to the sizes of the blocks, as well as their positions relative to each other.
  • The stroke order of a character - A standard stroke order is attached, showing the appropriate order to write each stroke.
  • The guiding lines - The guiding lines in the writing space helps the students to place the stroke to make the character pretty.
  • The interpretation of the poem - Students will be able to learn about the Chinese culture and Chinese history through the poem.
