Description

Calendar Math Routine for Grades 1-3 Google Slides Version

After the past two years or remote, hybrid, and interrupted learning, spiral review of Common Core math skills will be more important than ever this year! My Google Slides Calendar Math routine for grades 1-3 gives you SO many options for math routines to incorporate into your morning meeting/calendar time, no matter what brand of interactive whiteboard you have. And because it's a digital file, it doesn't take up any valuable wall space in your classroom!

With 18 different math routines, this resource is an engaging and interactive way to give students regular and repeated practice with a wide variety of key math concepts and vocabulary in just 15 minutes a day. This one file grows with your students, and can be customized and used all year long for less than $0.07 a day!

Whether you are teaching in person, remote, or hybrid, this Google Slides version of my popular Calendar Math routine will allow you to provide your students with important spiral review of so many math concepts, because it can be accessed from school or at home! Ideally, it would be done in the classroom, with the teacher facilitating and students helping, but teachers have had great success using this resource remotely.

"This is definitely one of the best purchases I've ever made on TPT. It has everything I need and more for distance learning, and for when I go back in the classroom!"

- Cara Ann Q.

"I absolutely love this calendar. I am currently using it for distance learning but I may replace my calendar routine in class with this as well! I also love how there are so many extra slides that can cover many different areas of the curriculum."- Laura P.

"LOVE THIS!! Makes calendar math SO much fun!!"- Kendra T.

My Google Slides Calendar Math has two components. The first is the Core Calendar. This is a set of daily routines that build on each other.

Core Calendar Routines:

  • Today's Date
  • Today's Number
  • Place Value for Today's Number/Big Number
  • Tallies/Money
  • Calendar Pattern/Question

The second part of Calendar is the Focus Page section, where you can choose 1 or 2 additional activities for spiral review once your students are comfortable with the Core Calendar activities.

Focus Page Routines:

  • Ten Frames
  • Fact Families
  • Collecting and Analyzing Data-Weather
  • Skip-Counting/Multiples
  • Working with Money
  • Fractions
  • Geometry
  • Comparing Numbers with < = >
  • Telling Time
  • Elapsed Time
  • Arrays
  • Perimeter
  • Area
  • Collecting and Analyzing Data-Tooth Tallies

Once students become familiar with the routines, you can begin assigning select activities in Google Slides*, if you have Chromebooks, or Seesaw, for Chromebooks or iPads, with the included FREE Seesaw templates. *Due to the tendency of movable pieces in Google Slides to distort when dragged on iPads, I wouldn't recommend assigning activities to students in Google Slides.

There are also printable recording sheets that students can complete if you are fully in person. Choose the format that works for you and the needs of your class.

You will receive:

  • A link to a 50-Slide Calendar Math File that will be copied into your Google Drive
  • A link to a 5-Slide Student Core Calendar File that will be copied into your Google
  • Drive for use with Chromebooks or other computers
  • Links to Free Seesaw Activity Templates for Grades 1-2 and for Grade 3
  • Digital and Printable Recording Sheets- if you are able to do Calendar in person
  • Detailed Directions
