Description

Derivative notes continue with another flipchart to simplify your life!!!! All your notes and examples in one place!!!! No need to open the book or write problems to refer to. Just start and complete each day’s lesson on the unit with this flipchart. I divide Ch. 2 on derivatives into three tests. Ch. 2A introduced derivatives focusing on the definitions of derivatives and some simple derivative rules. The students also solved some application problems such as velocity, acceleration and rate of change using simple derivatives. In this Ch. 2B flipchart, the students apply the product and quotient rules, derive the trig rules and chain rule, and use the chain rule in implicit differentiation. Their applications include linear approximations, more velocity and speed, and L’Hopital’s Rule. They are 38 pages covering approximately 8 days of 50-minute classes.

Each flipchart file in my Calculus Units series contains definitions, theorems, examples and practice problems with plenty room on each page for you or the students to work the problem on the flipchart. My textbook teaches transcendental function later in the year so you will not find derivatives of natural log, exponential or inverse trig functions in these notes.
