These one-sheet decodable passages are a fun, fast, and hassle-free tool for teaching the Silent E/Magic E vowel pattern in small group or guided reading! Science of Reading aligned: research shows that decodable text is significantly more effective than leveled text when teaching reading, writing and spelling of specific word patterns.
This awesome collection includes 30 different CVCe word families and two versions of word work included for each passage: one focused on fluency and one focused on comprehension!
In the first version, you read, circle the CVCe family words, count how many, and write them on the line. In the second version, you read, circle, and count how many CVCe word family words, then answer comprehension questions about the passage.
This pack contains word family passages for 30 CVCe word families! All of the following word families are included:
Long A: ace, age, ake, ale, ame, ane, ape, are
Long I: ice, ide, ike, ile, ime, ine, ire, ite, ive
Long O: oke, ole, ome, one, ope, ore, ose, ote, ove
Long U: mixed u__e passage
