What educators are saying

My students loved this activity. It was very engaging and helped my students that were struggling with blending and segmenting words.
My students enjoy using these activities in centers independently or with a partner. I enjoy watching them practice their decoding skills and rereading the sentences.

Description

This set contains 70 CVC words reading strips and 108 CVC cards that will ask the students to practice segmenting and blending a CVC word, then read the word in a simple sentence. This gives the students the opportunity to practice CVC words and at the same time recognize and read them in context.

The strips have pictures but the cards don't. You can use the strips both for CVC word blending and CVC word segmenting. When you use the strips you can cover the picture with your hand or a piece of paper while the child is reading the word and the sentence and then reveal it for self-correction.

Great for beginning readers or 1st grade Reading Intervention! You can use this resource as flash cards, centers, word wall or write the room activity.

Simply print and laminate the pages, then cut out the strips and the cards.
