What educators are saying

I love these. We use them with the magnetic alphabet letters. The graphics are clear and I loke the different types of activities it offers. I cut these up and spiral bound them so kids can build and go onto the next word.
I have been using this resource for our magnetic letter stations. I love the versatility of this resource and how it can be used. It is definitely a favorite in my classroom!

    Description

This purchase is perfect for those learners needing practice reading and spelling CVC words and short vowel words from common rhyme endings.

You will receive 453 mats each with a unique short vowel word in bold font and color picture. Specifically, there are 141 mats of short vowels from rhyming families, 156 mats of CVC words, and 156 mats of CVC words without the vowels. Students can learn to read and write these words through deliberate repeated practice.

I use this in my classroom in the following ways:

-Matching: Matching magnetic letters on top of corresponding letters.

-Writing: Cards are not cut, but remain in full page form. Place each page in a wipe-off pocket, and students can practice writing/spelling the words with dry erase marker.

-Laminated tracing: Laminate the cards and students can trace the words with dry erase marker.

-Play doh mats: Students roll out play doh in the shape of each letter. Play doh is placed on top of each letter, as it is shaped.

-Centers: Students read cards to each other in a LA center.
