CTE / Career Explorer Slideshow: World-Shakers of Music (Music Unit)

Aloha!

This listing is for a slideshow presentation used for my 7th and 8th grade CTE / Career Explorer Wheel course, Music unit. The kids really enjoyed the slideshow and all the musical exposure that it gave them (pro tip: middle- and high-schoolers can love any lesson that involves music). Have students take notes as they follow along and this lesson will take about 1 hour to finish.

-informational slides about artists who changed the societal landscape with their music

-examples and photos of real-world musicians

-audio examples to play for the students

-several writing prompts for students

-information concerning modern Hawaiian and Indigenous Native issues (I live and teach in Hawai'i, but these issues should be relevant regardless of where you are based)
