What educators are saying

I used this with my 7th grade pre-algebra class. I loved how organized the steps were. Students kept referring back to the guided problems when they were stuck on how to solve a problem. Will definitely use again - thank you!
My children were grateful for an easy to understand refresher for them. It would be a great addition to anyone learning. Easy to use and understand.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?

I’VE INCLUDED 2 DIFFERENT LESSON OPTIONS (STRATEGIES) FOR THIS TOPIC ... YOU CHOOSE THE ONE THAT WILL WORK BEST FOR YOUR STUDENTS!!

The Lesson:
“Here’s the Problem” - Read and discuss the problem.
“Here’s How” - Solve the problem STEP-BY-STEP.
“Let’s Try This One More Time...” - Solve similar problems.

There are two versions of the lesson worksheet:

  • Version #1: Students complete “Here’s How” along with the teacher. Use this version to model how to solve the problem and guide them through each step.

  • Version #2: “Here’s How” is already completed with all of the work shown for each step. Use this version for advanced students who are able to look at an example and understand the concept or as a “refresher” if you need to review a concept that was previously taught. (Perfect to leave as substitute plans, too!)

The VIDEO:

I've recorded videos to accompany the first lesson worksheet. Simply share the video link with your students so they can follow along with the lesson and complete the examples. PERFECT for remote/distance learning!

The Practice Worksheet:
Now it’s time for the students to practice what they’ve learned! Assign the practice worksheet as individual, partner, or small group practice. This worksheet contains 16 problems.

Know that numbers that are not rational are called irrational. Understand informally that every number has a decimal expansion; for rational numbers show that the decimal expansion repeats eventually, and convert a decimal expansion which repeats eventually into a rational number.
