Description

Are you tired of using the COPS acronym? I was! So I came up with CONES:

C - Capitals

O - Order

N - Nice & Neat

E - End with .?!

S - Spelling

The zipped file contains:

  1. Clip Art of the CONES system in color and black & white
  2. Clip Art of the CONES student self-checklist and the teacher checklist
  3. Clip Art of the CONES rubric
  4. One-page writing paper for each level (see below) including clip art
  5. Two-page writing paper for each level including clip art

Level 1: Checklists

  • One-page writing paper with checklists on the bottom
  • Two-page writing paper with checklists on the back
  • Checklists include a student self-checklist as well as a teacher checklist

Level 2: Checklist Scaffold with Teacher Rubric

  • One-page writing paper with checklist and rubric on the bottom
  • Two-page writing paper with checklist and rubric on the back
  • Students will use the self-checklist from Level 1
  • Teacher will grade using the rubric
  • This is a great way to introduce a rubric! It allows students to see the connection between the checklist and the rubric, while allowing them to deepen their understanding of the importance of each criteria.

Level 3: Rubrics

  • One-page writing paper with rubrics on the bottom
  • Two-page writing paper with rubrics on the back
  • Students will self-grade with one rubric
  • Teacher will grade with the other rubric

Also available in my shop with a dog-theme (BONES!).
