CKLA 2nd Grade Skills Weekly Focus Flyer

Weekly Focus Flyers are a great way to keep parents informed! It’s also helpful when it comes to planning. There is one flyer for every week. It lets parents know what their child is working on and what they are being assessed on. No surprises when report cards come around!

What’s included:

• An EDITABLE PowerPoint (32 pages) - Each page is 100% editable except the top header. Do you want to add additional messages or reminders to the flyer? This one is perfect for you!
• A PDF that is not editable (32 pages). This one is great for those teachers who just want to print and send home what is coming up.

*For the same font, you will need KG fonts which is available FREE on TpT for personal use. Directions on how to download the fonts to your computer are included. Or you can use fonts that are already on your computer, but the alignment of words vs. the boxes may need to be adjusted.

What does each page include?

The flyers have every part that is taught in the Skills section for that week, which could be:

• Phonics
• Reading (for the student readers only) with a Weekly Question parent can ask their child. A great way for parents to be involved!
• Grammar
• Writing
• Tricky words

*It also states if there are assessments that week.

Each flyer is for every five lessons… so the first flyer is for lessons 1-5, the next one is lessons 6-10, the next is for lessons 11-15, etc. If you send it home every Monday, spelling words are introduced on Monday and you give the assessment on Friday.

FAQ’s:

Are the Knowledge Domains included? No.

Can I edit the spelling words? You can edit or delete any part of it.

I don’t give spelling assessments, so I don’t send home the spelling words. Will this still work for me? Definitely! Just delete that box on the editable PowerPoint.

Is it hard to download the fonts? There are instructions included for PC users. For MAC users or for PC using having trouble, go to https://www.fontspring.com/support/installing - If all else fails, just change it to one of the fonts you already have on your computer.
