Exercise #1 starts with do re mi, with quarter and half notes. New pitches and rhythms are added gradually and sequentially with each new level.
- I compose my sight singing examples so that they provide plenty of repetition and sequence naturally, so your students can master them quickly.
- Set them up for success before the paper sight singing by using the Curwen hand signs for the sol-mi (mi-sol) skip through echoing and repetition.
- Execute this in either 8, 16 measures or 32 measures a class period, depending on how advanced and focused your class is.
- As the version numbers go up, the level of difficulty increases.
