What educators are saying

I printed these in color, laminated them and hung them in my classroom. I also made a copy for my students to place in their interactive notebooks.
I like the posters and activities in this resource to introduce Claim, Evidence, and Reason to my 5th graders. The topics in the activities are high interest topics and the students really enjoyed themselves.

    Feedback from teachers:

    • I used this resource throughout the year to teach the method of explaining scientific findings using the CER approach. At the beginning of the year, it was something we needed to review a lot, but by the end, the students got much better at creating direct, specific claims, supporting those claims with evidence from their investigations, and reasoning why their evidence supported their claims. This resource makes it clear and easy to follow the prompts.
    • This was a fun and enjoyable way to practice claim, evidence, and reasoning for my 5th graders! They really got into it and came up with great ideas. Thank you for the resource!
    • We did the ones with the videos, and my students absolutely LOVED these! We used them for CER, and my students did really well on their assignments because they could connect the videos. We did a couple of the others without the videos, too, and my students did well with these assignments too. I really love how you put these together! Thank you so much!
    • My students have been doing work with CER using still pictures. Using this product, I was able to take it a step further with the commercials and then with written paragraphs. It was great not having to search the internet for a bunch of things.
