Details:

Mitosis reader’s theater – Captain Nucleus gives the orders to take the cell through the various phases. Ribosome provides comic relief.

President of the Eukaryote Club – Now Eukaryotes have their club but arguments continue as they compare organelles and functions. Who will be president: Plant, Animal. Protist or Fungus?

Backstage at the Super Cell Pageant – If different cells were competing for the crown, what would they say about themselves? Looks at single celled organisms and well as specialized cells in mammals.

The Eukaryote Club - Who gets in and who gets the boot? Why? Plant, Animal, Protista, Fungus Virus and Bacteria discuss what it takes to fit into the Eukaryote Club. This two page script has roles for 7 and is part of a life science package with 6 scripts.

Invasion of the Germs What's the difference between a viral and bacterial infection? Students get fluency practice and solidify science concepts when they read and reread this six page, six scene reader's theater. Includes language arts connections, online resources and kinesthetic activities to reinforce the material in different ways for different learning styles.

Mitosis card game -Mitosis and the cell cycle can be difficult to teach and learn. This cell cycle card game can increase interest in the subject and help students see how the phases fit together, what disrupts the cycle and what prevents mutations.

This colorful card game is aligned with the Next Generation Science standards and the Virginia SOLs. It consists of 55 unique cards, diagrams, rules and variations, links to online review games, kinesthetic brain break games with 8”x11” .PDFs to play them or to use on bulletin boards plus an assignment for creative students.
T
he graphics on each card will help ESL and struggling readers. The game provides an excellent anchor activity for students who finish early or need a challenge. This game can be used to differentiate instruction or provide tiering if cards are used as a sort rather than a game for struggling students.

Organelle card game - Cell organelles, processes and functions are often difficult concepts to grasp but the Organelle card game will increase interest in the subject and help students see how they all fit together. The game consists of 82 unique cards, cell diagrams, rules, a “cheat sheet” chart and two variations on the rules to include viruses and chemical formulas for cellular respiration and photosynthesis.

Germ Warfare – All three card games teach students how common and historically significant diseases spread and impacted the human race. (polio, tetanus, malaria, hepatitis B, MRSA, smallpox, athlete’s foot and ringworm and more) It will appeal to students who like collectable card games, bright colors and competitive interaction. It provides an interesting, immersive alternative for teaching health and science concepts such as getting vaccines, how the immune system works, locker room and sports safety, the importance of vaccines and how disease spreads. Great for differentiated instruction or as an anchor activity for early finishers.

Games build knowledge and skills like decision making while enhancing communication, social interaction and critical thinking skills. Educators can simulate real life scenarios without the real life consequences while providing richly immersive learning activities. (The downside is that they can be time consuming to develop)

Cell Bingo - Save time and increase student interest and review related vocabulary with this bingo game. Full version includes over 60 clues and 25 total bingo cards. No two bingo cards are alike. Each clue contains a statement, definition, example or fill-in-the-blank which corresponds to a square on the card..
