Buffalo Soldiers Timeline Webquest (African Americans and the West)

This webquest allows students to learn about the history of African American soldiers and their contributions to the United States, with a special focus on Texas. It uses a timeline created by the Bullock Museum in Texas, which was designed for use in classrooms grade 5-12.

This webquest works great as a way to integrate technology into the classroom. The site is advertisement free and includes interactive pictures to foster a better understanding of the history of ‘Buffalo Soldiers’ and having fun along the way. Videos embedded in the website may not work, and because of this they are not included in the questions.

All you need to do is print off/e-mail the worksheet to students (NOTE: PLEASE READ OUR TERMS OF USE INCLUDED IN THE ZIP FOLDER). The address to the website is included as is a QR code. The webquest guides students through the page from there.

This webquest includes 35 questions and has an answer sheet for the teacher. Feel free to modify this assignment as needed for your classes.
