Description

BROADWAY THROUGH THE AGES is an 11-week course that takes students through the history of Broadway beginning with today's current musicals all the way back to the Golden Age of Broadway. Courses can be used as an entire unit or can easily be used for a single class of teacher's choice. All video links and discussion topics are included in the PDF. Great for a substitute!

Dance and choreography are an essential part of the American Musical. In this lesson, students will explore the role of dance in a musical and how shows use dance to further the story. They will also be introduced to the role of the choreographer and learn about iconic choreographers who altered the way dance was used in the musical and why their iconic choreography is still performed to this day.

As always, use your discretion and please watch the videos first to make sure you feel they are appropriate for your students!

Use a model to represent the relationship between the needs of different plants or animals (including humans) and the places they live. Examples of relationships could include that deer eat buds and leaves, therefore, they usually live in forested areas; and, grasses need sunlight so they often grow in meadows. Plants, animals, and their surroundings make up a system.
