Description

This Broadway themed variety show will have your toes tappin’ and your mouth laughin’. The play combines fun facts about the history of Broadway, hilarious skits and of course Broadway tunes!

The performance begins with a song titled “The Broadway Kids”, which the entire cast performs together. Then each group performs one skit and one Broadway song/dance. Finally, all the groups join together once more for the finale “Seasons of Love”.

Each group performance is introduced by a short speaking part full of fun Broadway facts. These 5 fact filled parts can be recited by one or more students depending on their age, ability and memory.

This flexible performance package even includes a page detailing how to make budget friendly tuxedo costumes out of paper!

This Broadway themed performance package can be used by an elementary classroom teacher, a music teacher, a summer camp coordinator, a vacation bible school, or a drama program instructor.

This show was originally performed by 80 students in my drama program (K-5th). I divided them into 4 cast groups of 20 students. However this show could easily be performed by less or more students depending on your class/classes and your stage.

Some grouping options are:

-One class (25 students) split into 4 cast groups

-Four classes each taking a cast group

-Eight classes with two classes in each cast group

This product contains the entire script, skits, song and dance music recommendations and links, full color printable participation certificate, various tools for organization and posting, ideas for costumes, show management, props and stage décor!!!
