What educators are saying

My students are enjoying this bundle. We are using it with WeVideo and found it super helpful and engaging. Thank you so much!
This has been a great addition to my broadcasting class. The students have really enjoyed the activities.

Description

This curriculum includes 8 units, 14 lessons, and 17 assignments. It starts with pressing "record" on a smartphone and ends with producing an entire newscast. These lessons are designed to give the students an understanding of broadcast journalism terminology and techniques through all eight units the first semester, and the second semester is dedicated to polishing their new skills through weekly newscasts. The curriculum includes a wide variety of resources, including slides, scripts, forms, worksheets, and rubrics.

Unit 1 - Newsworthiness

Unit 2 - Video

Unit 3 - Audio

Unit 4 - Reporting

Unit 5 - Editing

Unit 6 - News Packages

Unit 7 - Newscast Production

Unit 8 & Beyond - Weekly Newscasts

Bonus - Public Service Announcements

Students will enjoy this class and they'll tell their friends. I guarantee that next year you'll have a waitlist for students wanting to enroll in your class. But the students aren't the only ones having fun. You'll have fun too, watching them be creative, grow, and thrive.

My students have iPhones and use iMovie to edit, so the information in this curriculum mentions that equipment. But since these lessons are created with Google Apps, you can easily customize them to apply to your specific situation and equipment.

I'll include my email address if you get stuck with technical problems or need advice when something doesn't turn out just right. I've been there, and I can help.
