Description
This is a "solution" to the virtual "escape room" style puzzle that can be found at: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/844573647/
Note: if you like puzzles - you might want to try the puzzle first before diving into a solution because this spoils everything.
If you / your students enjoy the puzzle and you want to "tip" me (unnecessary - but appreciated), you can either comment here or in scratch with links to other similar free resources you've come across so I can check them out - or monetary tip - you could simply buy one of my other resources as a thank you for this one and put a note there -or here saying something to the effect of "thanks for the break in puzzle."
[why feedback of that sort matters: inspire me to make more puzzles and let me know it's worth posting the solution steps up here]
Note: It took my students (9th grade) almost a full 90 minutes. But I think if they did things like this more often, they might cut it down to 60. They were slow and reluctant to start - but enthusiastically engaged after putting together enough clues to fully solve 1 part of the puzzle. Students will need to be familiar with: bar graphs, circle graphs, percent calculations, stem-and-leaf plots, histogram basics, box plots. Note also that my default is to make stem-and-leaf plots from greatest to least (top down) rather than least-to-greatest and the orientation of the stem-and-leaf plot matters for this puzzle
