Description

This 2-page history activity will guide students in reading a secondary source text on the history of Colonial Brazil.

Students will focus on the following historical question: How did the early history of Brazil shape the colonial economy, and the treatment of indigenous and African slaves?

Then, students will narrate the colonial history of Brazil through the creation of a children's storybook or a hip-hop song.

Perfect activity for a Latinx or Latin American studies class, World History Course, or other social studies course in high school!
