Are your students less than excited about most social skills or social emotional activities? These interactive cards help students identify problems, choose solutions and reflect upon the solutions. The questions also address inferencing, predicting and figurative language skills. Teletherapy compatible!!
✪This set is intended for teaching the steps and provide in depth practice materials for responsible problem solving to middle and high school students.
This product includes both a PDF and BOOM cards. Responsible problem solving is defined in this deck as choosing solutions that don't hurt yourself or others.
The product begins as follows:
- Home Page (BOOM) or Outline (PDF),
- Learner outcomes,
- Self-rating of their problem-solviing skills,
- Knowledge check,
- Steps to problem solving.
Next, a deep dive with 11 scenarios. Students will:
a) identify the problem from four choices,
b) identify the best solution(s) from four choices, and
c) evaluate, reflect upon and discuss the solution that is presented by typing answers to questions about the impact of the solution.
For each scenario, students start with multiple choice and move on to open-ended responses.
The Product ends as follows:
- Review,
- Four idioms about problem solving are presented. Students choose the meanings (from context) given 4 choices.
- The PDF also includes a problem solving template, diploma and one mini-poster.
This set uses scaffolded learning. Students answer T/F questions, multiple choice questions and open-ended questions that facilitate reflection and discussion.
Learner Supports:
- Audio directions,
- Photographs,
- Author-created images,
- Multiple response modes (gives all students a chance to succeed),
- Response feedback for T/F and Multiple Choice questions.
- A vocabulary check,
