Description

Are you looking for interactive ways to teach middle and high school students about oversharing and what types and how much information they can share with what groups of people in conversations, on social media and in texts and emails. Are your students in speech therapy or social skills less than excited about most social skills activities? Are you looking for flexibility? This packets offers a deck of Boom cards, a pdf and EASEL activities.

In the set of Boom cards, you will receive a deck of 54 cards. The initial cards teach students about the types of oversharing and where people tend to overshare. It provides practice activities in multiple modes: yes/no, drag and drop, multiple choice, type your answer.

This deck offers the student the option of having directions read to them by clicking on the microphone icon. Helpful for struggling readers.

A complete lesson on oversharing in conversation, digital communication and social media. Concepts and skills are taught in an engaging lesson. Then, vocabulary and knowledge checks, practice situations and reviews are built into this deck. This deck of BOOM cards is for middle and high school students.

Here is what is included:

  • self rating (scale 1-10),
  • knowledge check (true/false),
  • what is oversharing?
  • oversharing: yes or no?
  • fix the overshare in conversation, social media and digital communication
  • circle of communication partners,

  • how to stop oversharing, and
  • review.

Real photographs of middle school, high school and young adults are used and mutiple skin tones are represented. Students have the option to hear audio directions.
