What educators are saying

I loved this product so much! My students LOVED this book tasting activity and I was able to cater it to our specific genres we were working on. Thank you for creating quality reading resources for our classrooms!
Such a great activity. I really loved this template because even my kids who struggle with reading and writing were able to participate fully.

Description

Hosting a Book Tasting in your classroom is an amazing way to get your students interested in a variety of book genres. Students are engaged while exploring different genres and increasing their interests in books. Extend the "restaurant theme" for the day by completing the extra activities to fit the theme.

What does this product include?

The packet includes ideas for transforming your classroom for a Book Tasting, signs, table labels, genre labels, genre posters, Book Tasting trifold recording sheet, Book Retell Menu, ABC Order pages, My Favorite Restaurant Writing, Create a Recipe Writing, Create a Menu, Guest Checks, and Food Math activities.

Who is this product geared towards?

This Book Tasting is geared towards 1st or 2nd grade classrooms, but some Kindergarten or 3rd grade classroom could also find this helpful.

How can I use this product in my classroom?

Hosting a Book Tasting can be done with very little prep work. I have included all of the printables that you will need. Simply grab books from your classroom library or school library for each genre. I have included tips and ideas for decorating your classroom, but that would be optional. You could also invite parents to your Book Tasting if you would want to do it as a Parent Night activity.
