I originally came across this wonderful chant at

when I was browsing through different librarian websites when I first got hired. I wanted to get some ideas on how to teach my Pre-K and Kinder students on how to use their book buddies correctly when taking a book off the shelf. I tweaked the song a little bit to help them understand what to do with a book they ended up NOT wanting, as well as when they found a book they wanted to check out.
They absolutely LOVED it, and they loved teaching it to new students that would come throughout the year.
I printed the poster in color and took it to Office Max to make a larger, colored poster.
