Hello! I created this product to introduce main idea to my students and it was a complete success! I usually start out with the circle map graphic organizer in a whole group anchor chart but added one to this product to have the class follow along. Students then infer what the main idea is about based on the photographic details they are given and jot it down on the their graphic organizer. Lastly, they are able to use the main idea graphic organizer as a follow up activity or a check for understanding on a read aloud or other activity. You can use this product to introduce or review main idea. I have used it as early as first grade, use it however you see fit!
