Bold Beginnings Sentences/ HOOKS

This is a powerpoint presentation that I created to help teach my students about the various types of BOLD beginnings that a writer can use in their writing. This powerpoint includes pictures of various picture books that contain a type of beginning that is being explained. I read the picture book examples aloud to the students during the slideshow. I have also added images with the beginning sentences from each book to read aloud to the students if you do not have the physical book. At the end of the presentation the students are told a beginning sentence and the students need to guess which sentence is being told.
