What educators are saying

I loved doing this project with my students. The only change I made was instead of a poster, I had the kids make PowerPoints to add a technology components.

Description

This listing is for a digital bundle download of my Black History student research essay & digital poster project.

The goal of the project is for students to conduct biographical research on a noteworthy African American of their choice. Then, they will produce a five-paragraph essay where they demonstrate research and skills with citing evidence as well as creating a digital poster that can be printed and displayed in your classroom or hallways. Student motivation is high with this project, as the list of research subjects covers a variety of interest areas — athletes, musicians, historical figures and politicians, artists, actors and actresses, and writers.

Students are guided through the research process with a note-taking template to organize their ideas. There is also a rubric that is compatible with the Doctopus/Goobric Google Chrome extension to make essay grading a breeze!
