Description

Civil Rights passages about the Civil Rights Movement. These Civil Rights stories were created to be engaging for the students and yet they are “kid friendly”. I found as a teacher it was difficult to teach civil rights in the upper elementary grades because the stories were often not age appropriate for my students and so I wanted to have stories that were appropriate. The artwork of the characters was also designed to fit upper elementary, not too grown-up but not too childish.

This story bundle is for teachers that already have their own lesson plans but are looking for extra passages to add to their unit. If you are wanting a whole unit about Civil Rights with lesson plans and assignments, check out our ELA Integrated ★Civil Rights Unit★ that includes these 7 passages along with an ELA integrated tasks that are themed around summarizing and finding main idea.
