Black History Month African American Astronauts Presentation | February Activity

This is a classroom resource and activity to engage in and is perfect to celebrate Black History Month which is observed in February, or any time you are studying about African American History.

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. Also known as African American History Month. Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month. Other countries around the world, including Canada and the United Kingdom, also devote a month to celebrating Black history.

Let students learn about the 20 African American Astronauts’ short biographies in notable works and personal lives. The wrap-up worksheets would emphasize their knowledge and gain more understanding of African Americans in U.S. history.
