    Description

Are you looking for a way to teach your students about some of the most influential African American artists of the 20th century? Do you want to inspire your students to express themselves through art and celebrate diversity and inclusivity? Well, have no fear because I've got the perfect solution for you - a bundle of art lessons featuring Tyree Guyton, Faith Ringgold, and Romare Bearden!

Each lesson in this bundle is designed to teach your students about a different artist and their unique style and techniques. Your students will learn about Tyree Guyton and his masterpiece, The Heidelberg Project, Faith Ringgold and her powerful painting, To Be or Not to Be Free, and Romare Bearden and his vibrant collage, The Block.

Not only will your students learn about these amazing artists and their contributions to the art world, but they'll also develop important critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they work on their own art projects inspired by their styles. They'll learn about mixed media techniques, color blending, and the importance of self-expression in art.

With easy-to-follow instructions and materials lists, these lessons are perfect for teachers who don't have a background in art. Plus, this bundle will help your students develop an appreciation for different artistic styles and techniques, and help them understand the importance of celebrating diversity and inclusivity.

Measure the length of an object by selecting and using appropriate tools such as rulers, yardsticks, meter sticks, and measuring tapes.
Distinguish between defining attributes (e.g., triangles are closed and three-sided) versus non-defining attributes (e.g., color, orientation, overall size); build and draw shapes to possess defining attributes.
Compose two-dimensional shapes (rectangles, squares, trapezoids, triangles, half-circles, and quarter-circles) or three-dimensional shapes (cubes, right rectangular prisms, right circular cones, and right circular cylinders) to create a composite shape, and compose new shapes from the composite shape.
Partition circles and rectangles into two and four equal shares, describe the shares using the words halves, fourths, and quarters, and use the phrases half of, fourth of, and quarter of. Describe the whole as two of, or four of the shares. Understand for these examples that decomposing into more equal shares creates smaller shares.
Recognize and draw shapes having specified attributes, such as a given number of angles or a given number of equal faces. Identify triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes.
