What educators are saying

Great activity! My students were engaged in the activty. The activity really demonstrated biomagnification.
Good hands on lab for biomagnification. I liked that it could be completed in one class period. I used beads instead of skittles so they could be reused year after year.

Description

Biomagnification Simulation

What will the students be doing?

In this hands-on activity, students will simulate the biomagnification of a chemical (mercury or DDT) throughout a marine ecosystem. Students will then determine which organisms are most affected by the chemical. After this simulation, students will be able to define and explain biomagnification.

This is a fun activity to do with your students. I used it during an evaluation and the principal loved it!
