Bingo for Beginners! - Critical Thinking, Singing, Instruments, and more!!

I needed a resource and song-file that would help me teach to very young English Language Learners. Bingo turned out to be the perfect song because learners sound out his name, spell it over and over again, play with beat vs. rhythm, and also work on taking out letters one a time.

This process works really well for my little students half-way through the year after they’ve had some practice with letters and beat vs. rhythm. I made this file to create a visual representation for my students (ELL learners really benefit from visual cues).

Using the PowerPoint also frees me up to assess students one by one while we sing, hand out/monitor instruments, and manage behavior (they’re so busy watching the screen I have a little more freedom).

This product includes:

*Several ways to work through and sing the BINGO song: sound out his name, sing and pat/clap as you take letters out, sing and play instruments as you take letters out.

*A set of slides where learners can work through the beat and identify the rhythm in BINGO’s name.

*A set of slides where learners can sing through BINGO’s name and instead of adding a clap/instrument they substitute a quarter rest for the missing letter.

*Slides can be rearranged and activities moved around or taken out to fit your needs.
