Bill Nye Moon Video Worksheet

Students fill in the blank and answer short answer questions on this video worksheet while watching Bill Nye the Science Guy. At the end of the video, students analyze the song lyrics in the show and write a summary. Song lyrics are included on the worksheet for students to sing along. Questions are in the order that students view the video, so it is easy to follow along. The same wording is used in the worksheet as in the video, to make students more successful in finding the answers. Additionally students draw a picture of a main idea from the video.

1. If you use this as an introduction to teaching about the moon, you can have students answer the song analysis questions later.
2. You can play the video later in the unit after you have discussed moon phases and synchronous rotation of the moon.
3. You can have students skip questions 19 & 21 altogether.
4. You can assign questions 19 & 21 for extra credit and students can use the internet to look up what the words mean.
