What educators are saying

These worked great with the Bee Bots! Set up time needed tom print, laminate and build the map but students enjoyed many activities that can be made with these.

Description

This activity is a fun way to introduce coding with the Bee-Bot and Code and Go Mouse Robots! It is easily adaptable and differentiated so Kindergarten through the upper elementary grades can learn coding and simple algorithms by selecting a monster picture and finding it on their mat. Younger students will learn to code the robot to go forward, backward, turn right and left, while older students can use their skills to explore new ways to code their robots more efficiently. With the addition of the Name and Description Task Cards, the challenge because even harder. These activities will spark your students' critical thinking skills, regardless of age!

Monster Mashup Coding Activities are ideal for:

  • Individual Classrooms
  • STEM Labs
  • Computer Technology Labs

Included are:

  • 36 Unique Monster Picture Tiles (includes one Start Tile) which gives you dozens of combinations of different sized mats!
  • 2 Levels of Student Planning Sheets to accommodate different grade levels and learners
  • 35 Picture Task Cards ideal for younger students and beginners
  • 35 Name and Description Task Cards which provide more challenging coding problems for students to solve. They can code with a partner who can draw a card and call out a monster's name or read a description. The student who codes must use their skills to determine which monster to code their robot to travel to without actually seeing what it looks like!
  • Teacher Instructions includes printing instructions for both Bee-Bots (15 cm) tiles and Code and Go Mouse (12 cm) tiles.

Due to the Terms of Use of the font/clip artists and stock photo websites that I have purchased from, this product is not editable. Thank you for understanding.
