Loved it all, but especially the Lean Business Plan lesson. It was an awesome lesson to introduce the business plan!

    Description

This fun and engaging, start-up venture project was designed to make entrepreneurship realistic for high school business students. It evokes student interest, by having them apply their own strengths, knowledge, and passions to select a business concept that would be a good fit for them. Students will then apply key business concepts to expand on their business idea. Key business concepts covered include business ownership, business plan, marketing plan, market research, branding, financial statements and documents, and the elevator pitch.

You'll save $$$ by purchasing this bundle or you can pick and choose your favorites as each product is also sold separately.

    Note to Teacher:

Upon your purchase this bundle will be added to your Google Drive™ where you will receive folders with each project. Click on the individual project to see what is included with each product. Grading rubrics are included where applicable for easy assessment.

This bundle contains digital worksheets in Google Slides™ and allows students to add content in the text boxes/tables provided. Content requirements are provided as the background for each slide. Project Details

Take this project for a test drive with the FREE Be an Entrepreneur Idea Starter Kit. This freebie was designed to help students reflect on their own skills, experience, interests, strengths, and weaknesses to generate a business idea they could realistically start now or in the next few years. Next, students will conduct brief research on the business concept and name their business.

The first place to start when you decide to begin a new venture is with research. Lead students to the background knowledge they need to be successful in entrepreneurship with the Be and Entrepreneur Start-up Research Activity. Students will use the Internet to research guided questions on the components of the start-up process (including the entrepreneur, environment, opportunity, start-up resources, and organizational structure), risks and rewards of entrepreneurship, and advantages and disadvantages of owning your own business vs. working for someone else. Finally students will apply these concepts to their own business idea.

Take your Entrepreneurship students' business ideas to the next level with the ready-to-use Be an Entrepreneur Lean Business Plan. This product includes 3 versions (digital, print, or infographic) to meet the needs of your classroom and students. This project will also cut down on the amount of time typically allocated to a business plan, while still maintaining course rigor. The content requirements required in this project include: business name, business description, problem, solution, features, benefits, competitors, customer segments, team & key roles, marketing activities, revenue streams, pricing, and expenses. The project instructions provide guided questions to help students write each of these sections. If you choose to use the lean business plan template (digital and print), it is a 2-page document with boxes to fill in for each component.

In the Be an Entrepreneur Market Research Project students will craft a market research question, create a survey, gather data, analyze and report their findings, and make recommendations for their business concept based on their research. Market research can be used throughout the product life cycle, but for this project students will be using market research to help explore the market opportunity and better understand the needs of consumers.

For the Be an Entrepreneur Marketing Plan students will imagine they are meeting with a business mentor to share their marketing ideas. With the business concept in mind, students will develop a marketing plan by setting a marketing goal, defining the market positioning, describing the product/ service, explaining the pricing model, identifying placement, recommending promotions, and explaining how to build customer relationships and loyalty.

Students will get creative in the Be an Entrepreneur Brand Vision Board project. Students will design a brand vision board to organize their ideas by designing a logo, alternate logo, submark, color palette, and mood board.

The Be an Entrepreneur Financial Statements and Documents will help students organize their financial information. This activity focuses on start-up expenses, operating expenses, the balance sheet, and income statement. Students will research the costs to start up and operate a business. They will assemble a list of expenses, costs, and the source used to locate the information. Next, students will follow step-by-step instructions to come up with numbers for each of the accounts on the balance sheet and income statement. Students will solve for totals as needed and use the accounting equation to balance the accounts on their balance sheet.

End the simulation with the Be an Entrepreneur Elevator Pitch and Business Card project. Students will craft an elevator pitch to introduce their business concept and explain what makes their business unique. Additionally, they will create a business card that could be given at the conclusion of their pitch.

This project is meant to be a supplemental resource used throughout the semester as you cover each key concept. Alternatively, you could do this as an end of the course as a capstone project. I designed this project as an individual project to best harness individual interests, however, it could be adapted to a group project should that fit the needs of your classroom. This resource does NOT include daily lesson plans. This project could be used in many different courses such as Entrepreneurship, Marketing II, or Business Management. Start with the FREE Be an Entrepreneur Idea Starter Kit and the other projects in this bundle can be used in any order you see fit.

Save time and promote collaboration, creativity, and real-world application by pairing this simulation with the Entrepreneurship Activities and Projects Mega Bundle. This resource includes 27 digital resources with 34 activities and 10 projects that can easily be integrated into your business course. Students will be introduced to entrepreneurship, assess problems and solutions faced by entrepreneurs, explore marketing in entrepreneurship, and examine key financial concepts.
