Perfect for helping my students understand the different perspectives of the happenings of Lexington and Concord. The sources were a good productive struggle. Thank you!

Description

Students will read and analyze two accounts of the Battle of Lexington from the point of view of a colonial Patriot and a British soldier from the Revolutionary War by answering 18 questions. In addition to comparing and contrasting the accounts, students will complete 2 extension tasks and analyze 6 images (prompts provided). The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub! See the preview for a closer look!

Sample questions include:

--Describe the situation the British found themselves in when they were leaving Concord.

--Explain the significance of the meeting of British and Patriots on Lexington Green. Use information from the text and infer from prior knowledge to support your answer.

--Explain the meaning of, "the guts of his gun."

--What accounts for similarities and differences between an account of a single event?

--Does technology such as video recordings and social media hold people accountable to the truth? Why or why not? Who determines what the truth actually is if there is more than one point of view?
