Bats Unit - All About Bats Activities Nonfiction Science & Literacy Unit

Bats, Bats, Bats! This is a nonfiction unit all about bats! Students will read, write, and learn about bats through a series of standard based thematic lessons and extensions. This bats unit is literacy and science Common Core aligned, making it fun and easy to integrate across subject areas!

• Would A Bat Make A Good Pet Graphing: class graph display pieces + student graph recording sheets
• Wingspan Lesson: Students will measure their wingspan from one hand to another with a piece of string. Then use rulers/yardsticks to record their 'wingspan.' Teachers can then hang up and display their strings and measurements. 
• Bat Craft + Opinion Writing: Templates to create a bath craft. Writing Template to respond to the prompt: "In my opinion bats are creepy/cool because..."
• Writing Extensions: It's a Fact and Bats Can/Have/Are
• Bats Nonfiction Book: Students will create their OWN Non-fiction book about Bats using the templates provided and everything they have learned about bats. The books will include the following text features: Diagram, Table of Contents, Realistic Images, Facts
