What educators are saying
Description
This pack includes 4 different bat themed stations to keep your students learning and having fun! There is an outline of ideas and materials needed to transform your room and have a "Bat Cave Day".
1. Batty Word Problems + Balancing Equations
There are 3 differentiated sets of word problems that focus on addition and subtraction.
There is also an extension for students to create their own word problems and solve with a partner at their station to solve.
Students find 2 bat wings that have the same sum. The build the bats by putting the balanced equation wings on the correct body.
2. Bat Species Research
There are articles on 3 species of bats. Students choose one type of bat and research about it using the articles and QR codes. The final product will be a green screen video of the students sharing information about their bat species. They can create a background that matches their bat's habitat and wear a bat mask for an added effect!
3. Body Parts of a Bat Research
Students will use articles, QR codes and Epic! to research about how bats use their body parts to survive. There is a link for a direct draw for students to complete and then label their bat. The final product will be a ChatterPix video of their direct draw and a recording of how the bat uses the labeled body parts to survive.
4. Build a Bat Cave STEM
This has minimal prep and needs few materials! Students can build a cave for a bat and then write an expository or fictional story about their bat cave.
