One of a continuing series of 10-question economics quizzes to practice retrieval learning in your classroom.

Activate the power of retrieval learning and the 'testing effect' to enhance student retention, background knowledge, and understanding with this 5 to 10 minute practice test.

Suggestions to activate the ‘testing effect’ for your students:

  1. As you know, a steady ‘diet’ of short, low stakes practice tests greatly enhances student retention, background knowledge, and even contributes to greater understanding. Low stakes tests are short practice exercises worth no grade or a minimal grade and act as part of sound formative assessment practice.
  2. Regular review quizzes: Integrate frequent, short retrieval practice tests into your unit to reinforce previously learned content. These low stakes quizzes can cover key facts, vocabulary, and concepts, allowing students to regularly retrieve, review and reinforce their understanding.
  3. Self-assessment quizzes: Provide students with opportunities to self-assess their understanding by offering short retrieval practice quizzes with immediate feedback. This allows students to identify areas where they need further clarification or review, promoting metacognitive awareness and self-directed learning.
  4. Collaborative quizzes: Consider administering a practice test. Upon completion, organize students into pairs or trios and, without knowledge of results, require students to discuss the questions and determine a group answer for each question. Debrief the results, and provide answers to the questions.
  5. Review quizzes: Even if you have used practice tests previously, consider using them as part of the review process at the end of a course. Or reserve some of the quizzes for use as course nears its end.
  6. Standardized test prep: Again, even if you have used the practice tests previously, consider using them as part of the review process for standardized test preparation. Or reserve some of the quizzes for use as test prep before your students head into their standardized tests.

Check out the bundle that includes the entire series of practice tests and better activate the power of retrieval learning and the 'testing effect' to enhance student retention, background knowledge, and understanding with this 5 to 10 minute practice test.

  • One of the great things about our bundles is you get a large number of practice tests for use in various ways in your classroom or your home learners
