Bar Graph Game : Reading and Interpreting Bar Graphs | distance learning
What educators are saying
Description
Great for use at home if you're stuck in a Coronavirus quarantine and want fun Math for your kids. Students will race to 10 in this fun math game, creating and interpreting bar graphs in the process.
Using the provided spinner, students will spin, land on a character, and record their information on the bar graph. The first character to get spun ten times is the winner. Once kids have completed the game, they will answer questions about their bar graph on an interactive worksheet (cutting and pasting characters to answer questions).
Directions: First, find a pencil and a paper clip. Place the paper clip in the middle of the circle, and then put the tip of the pencil inside one end of the paper clip, so that the pencil tip is exactly in the center of the circle. Now, spin the paper clip as fast as you can while holding the pencil in place. (You can have a partner hold the pencil while you spin the paper clip, and then trade.) Each time the paper clip stops spinning, notice which character it lands on, then fill in a square on your bar graph for that character. (You can color in the box, use a sticker or a dot marker, or write a check mark or an X in the box.) Whichever one gets 10 spins first wins!
