The first part is a webquest is perfect to use during an introduction to the topic of bacteria as it focuses on specific types of bacteria and where they can be found on both our planet and in the human body. It also gets students about the good and bad roles that bacteria play on our planet.
Sample questions include:
1) Name six foods that "good" bacteria for the human body can be found in. Explain what "good" bacteria means.
2) Explain three facts each about Salmonella and Legionairre's Disease.
3) Draw and describe the basic shape of Bascilli.
The second part of the webquest provides students with 12 different types of bacteria. They choose 3 of the types to answer some specific research questions. This page is excellent when working toward a project or for classroom discussion.
