Description

This product is an assessment tool to use for math and literacy skills of Kindergarten students. Use the data to determine where students have mastered skills and where they are still struggling. This data can be used to help you group students according to their level and ability. Each child can reach their maximum potential when we focus on their struggle spots and help them grow!

What is this product?

This product is a tool to use for assessing students entering Kindergarten. It will help identify skills, strengths and weaknesses, and can be used to determine groups by ability levels.

What skills are assessed?

-Pencil Grip/Handwriting

-Ability to Write Name

-Letter Identification (lowercase and uppercase)

-Letter Sounds

-High Frequency Words (go, the, a, I, my)

-Decodable Words (pin, tap, hot)

-Counting

-Number Recognition

-Colors

-2D Shapes

-Patterns

-Number Sense

What is included in this product?

-Recording Packet (3 cover page options)

This packet is used by the teacher/administrator in charge of giving the assessment. As you go through the assessment, this packet will be used to record answers and data.

-Take Home Copy of Results (Mini Books), 3 cover page options

This is a mini book for the parents/guardians with the child’s results. By providing the parents with a copy of the skills that their child has mastered and need additional help with, they are able to practice and work with the child at home on these skills.

They can be used in different ways: While you are giving the assessment and recording the information in the recording packet, another staff member can fill out the parent version, you can fill out both at the same time, or you can go back through later and copy the results from the recording packet into the parent book.

Standards

Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
