Description

To complete this back to school mystery your students will work in small groups, use their detective notes, and solve language tasks to discover who has taken the missing school supplies. After solving the tasks, you might want to make our special school supply snack.

Help! Tomorrow is the first day of school and Student Suzie can’t find any of her supplies. Will you solve the clues to figure out who took all of Student Suzie’s school supplies?

Clue #1 (short vowel sounds) – Each of the words has a short vowel. Sort the words to the correct suspect. Whoever has the most words did NOT take Student Suzie’s school supplies!

Clue #2 (abc order secret puzzzle) – The puzzle shows a suspect that did NOT steal the supplies! Work with your team to put the pieces together correctly. Hint: The words will help you solve the puzzle!

Clue #3 (school supplies mini book) – Read the little book with your team. Each suspect has a statement about the book. Whoever says something FALSE did not steal the supplies!

Clue #4 (short a rhyming words) – Each word belongs in a short A word family. Sort the words to the correct suspect. Whoever has the most words is not the school supply thief!

The mystery ends with a school supply treat!
