    Description

This back to school packet is full of the best Spanish activities and resources to start the year off right! It's perfect for the first week of school for Spanish teachers, Bilingual teachers, or ESL teachers with large Hispanic populations.

    1) Choose your Spanish name: 300+ names (girls/boys) for kids to choose from

    2) Two Student Information Versions (one in English, for beginner Spanish learners; one in Spanish, for intermediate-advanced)

    3) Two Student Profile Versions (in English, for level 1; in Spanish, for levels 2, 3, 4, AP)

    4) Language Study Tips (in English). There are 2 files- one is a poster sized that can be printed large for the teacher to hang on the wall. The second file is on a regular sized paper for students to have. The study tips include authentic ways to practice speaking Spanish, strategies for studying and learning vocabulary, and reminders on language learning.

    5) Two Lists of Common Classroom Phrases (one bilingual, Spanish-English list for lower levels, or as an answer key; one Spanish-only list, for upper-level classes, or as homework for kids to translate)

    6) ¿Qué debe decir? An exercise of situations in English that require a response. The answer key notes that there are multiple possible answers. For example:

You walk into history class and find out you have a pop-quiz, so the teacher asks you to take out a piece of paper. What does he say?

    7) Two different web quests, to help students see why learning Spanish is relevant, useful, and important:

1- Los Hispanos en los EEUU (web quest). Using recommended web sites, students answer questions on population in states and cities about Spanish-speakers in the US.

2- Los Hispanos en el Mundo (web quest). Using recommended web sites, students answer questions about countries around the world where Spanish-speakers live. This activity increases awareness about the importance of learning Spanish.
