    Description

These 6 lessons are the perfect starting point to teach any type of leadership class or group - AVID, ASB, Link Crew, Web, Student Council, or any elective! I have numerous leadership lessons, but these 6 serve as the perfect introduction for your students. All are editable and all are on Google Slides!

    Leadership Research Project:

This is a great research project for leadership, AVID, or gifted students and is based on Kouzes and Posner's 5 Principles of Leadership. It is geared towards middle or high school students. The Google slides are completely editable so you can add, delete, or edit any slides to suit your needs. The project guides students to research a famous leader and compare them to a person "in real life" who also demonstrates similar leadership qualities. They create questions and interview their "in real life" person and create a presentation to compare the two leaders. I spread this out over a month to give students enough time to research and interview their chosen person.

    Ted Lasso Leadership Lessons #1

My students are obsessed with Ted Lasso and his positive leadership traits. This is a great Get to Know You or Back to School Leadership lesson. It is mostly geared for high school, but could also be used for middle school as well. The students watch a few video clips of the show (warning: one video says "hell" but it's said quickly and the English accent makes it hardly noticeable). They answer questions about the clips and Ted's leadership style and analyze some of his famous quotes. It is a Google Slides presentation and fully editable, so you can change, delete, or edit things as you see fit. We did this to start the school year and my students LOVED it! The few who hadn't seen the show went home and started binge-watching it. It has been such a great bonding experience and really brought my class together. Click HERE if you only want this resource (not the bundle).

    Ted Lasso Leadership Lessons #2

My students are still obsessed with Ted Lasso (season 2) and his positive leadership traits. This is a great Get to Know You or Back to School Leadership lesson. It is mostly geared for middle school, junior high, or high school. The students watch a few video clips of the show. They answer questions about the clips and Ted's leadership style and analyze some of his famous quotes. It is a Google Slides presentation and fully editable, so you can change, delete, or edit things as you see fit. We did this to start the new semester and my students LOVED it! It was a great recharge! The few who hadn't seen the show went home and started binge-watching it. It has been such a great bonding experience and really brought my class together. Click HERE if you only want this resource (not the bundle).

    Cultivating GRIT:

This is a really fun and thought-provoking lesson on having GRIT and what it takes to persevere. It is perfect for an elective class (student council, ASB, avid, leadership, WEB, Link Crew, etc.) or even ELA. It can easily be turned into a writing assignment. The students have different activities, videos, and articles to complete throughout the slideshow. It can be presented or given to each student individually through Google Classroom. It is on a Google Presentation and it is fully editable so you can add, change, or delete things to suit the levels of your students. There are 2 essential questions (1 for GRIT and 1 for EFFORT) that you could tie to writing an essay as a culminating activity. It is different from my other Grit lesson, so don't fear if you have already bought that one.

    Leadership Lessons from FRIENDS:

This is such a fun leadership lesson and my student LOVED it! The resource uses 5 life lessons as seen on Friends. It is ideal for middle school, junior high, or high school. It is perfect for ASB, student council, Avid study skills, an elective, speech & drama, or even ELA. There is an essay writing component at the end. It is completely editable so you can add, delete, or change anything to suit your students' needs. All video clips are included in links and this can easily be distributed on Google Classroom.

    The Wooden Way:

This is a fantastic leadership lesson for student council, ASB, avid study skills electives, or an ELA class. It is probably best for middle, junior high, or high school, but an advanced upper elementary could benefit too. It has essay writing and a presentation portion, but it is also completely editable, so you can add, delete, or change anything you want to suit the needs of your students. There are 2 videos about John Wooden (with questions about them) and one on giving a presentation. There is one article where students answer questions and highlight leadership qualities. They also analyze Wooden's pyramid and there are group activities and a partner presentation (with a rubric). It's truly 38 pages of goodness!

If you are more comfortable with a forced copy link because of the Google warning, I would be more than happy to provide that for you instead of downloading it from TPT. After you purchase the resource, please email me at jacjenkins26@gmail.com and I will send you a secure link to make a copy.
