National Standards for Music Education (Creating)
- Imagine - Generate musical ideas for various purposes and contexts,
- Plan and Make - Select and develop musical ideas for defined purposes and contexts,
- Evaluate and Refine - Evaluate and refine selected musical ideas to create musical work that meets appropriate criteria,
- Present - Share creative musical work that conveys intent, demonstrates craftsmanship, and exhibits originality.
New York State Arts Standards - Music
- MU:Cr2.1.7 - Organize and/or demonstrate developed musical ideas for arrangements or compositions that express unity and variety and convey expressive intent.
- MU:Cr2.1.8 - Organize and/or demonstrate developed musical ideas for arrangements or compositions that express unity and variety, and tension and release in expanded forms and convey expressive intent. Use standard notation and/or audio/video recording to combine, sequence, and document musical phrases and harmonic accompaniments.
- MU:Cr3.1.7 - Evaluate, refine, and document revisions to music, applying criteria and feedback (related to areas such as style and form), and explain the rationale for changes.
- MU:Cr3.2.7 - Present the final version of their documented composition, song, or arrangement, using craftsmanship and originality to demonstrate unity and variety, and convey expressive intent.
