Teaching Tip: I am fortunate to have a large bulletin board in the hall outside my classroom. With my hallway bulletin board, I try to make it interactive, encouraging not only my students but ALL students to interact with the board.

This year, I offered extra credit to my United States History students who correctly identified all the women profiled in the bulletin board. I encouraged ALL students to interact with the bulletin board by offering a small prize to the first student who correctly identified all the women profiled in the bulletin board. This year I offered a gift card to our local bookstore as the prize!

This bundle includes 20 visually appealing posters highlighting influential women in government, literature, science, and human rights.

Women's History Posters and Task Cards (Sets #1, #2, and #3)

This poster set includes 20 posters, each highlighting a significant woman in history. Women highlighted in this poster set include:

Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Ida B. Wells, Malala Yousafzai, Dorothea Lange, and Maya Angelou. My second set of posters include: Amelia Earhart, Eleanor Roosevelt, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, and Susan B. Anthony, Tammy Baldwin, Alice Paul, Sojourner Truth, Sonia Sotomayor, Ada Deer, Rachel Carson, Jane Goodall, Mae Jemison, Elizabeth Blackwell, and Marie Curie.

This resource also includes 32 task cards/ bell-ringers featuring quotes from the women profiled in this poster set.

These posters are a great way to spark a classroom conversation about prominent women in history. (I hang my posters in my classroom door window. My classroom is located in a "high traffic area." I love "catching" students looking at the posters and discussing them with their peers!

I teach United States History, Civil Rights History, and Social Studies at the high school and middle school level. I infuse the contributions of all five women profiled in these posters into the curriculum in a variety of ways including classroom discussions, videos, readings, etc. These posters are not intended to be the ONLY infusion of women's history into the classroom. They are intended to be a starting point.

    Teaching Tips:

I laminate my posters and task cards (to increase longevity and allow students to write responses on task cards using dry-erase markers.)

These posters can also be used to create bulletin board displays! Perfect for Back to School or Women's History Month! (I leave my Women in History posters up all year long!)
