Description

This pack contains several engaging activities to help introduce your students to Autumn!

The Autumn Reader's Theater is a fun way to bring reading, science, and drama together. The reading is packed with information on why the earth's tilt and revolution cause the change of seasons as well as a detailed explanation of photosynthesis and how that plays a part in the color changes of leaves.

The step-by-step Leaf Lab uses chromatography to explore what pigments are in leaves all year round even when we only see green. This lab also uses the standard scientific method.

Also included is a similes practice page using Autumn characteristics, a crossword puzzle to build vocabulary about Earth, a step-by-step leaf rubbing page, and an engaging word search.

Vocabulary included: solstice, equinox, photosynthesis, revolution, tilt, chlorophyll
