This set of 20 different language enriched lesson plans will allow you to have sensory fun with your students who have autism or any type of disability, including severe or profound students. This unit will help them develop a sense of environmental awareness while allowing them to take a sensory field trip. This is such a neat way to plan language enriched lessons that are perfect for therapists or teachers who are looking for inclusion activities for a self-contained or developmentally delayed classroom setting. All you have to do is print the lessons, gather the supplies and you are ready! Worksheets are included for documentation. You can even use these for adding goals to your IEP and use the data forms to develop your baseline and progress information.

Going on field trips can be so much fun and so educational, but with profoundly disabled students, it can be difficult! Some children may not be able to make the trip due to health concerns or maybe there are financial limitations. I created this product in memory of a dear student I had who was profoundly disabled, medically fragile and homebound. I was young and so inexperienced with her, but if I had the chance to go back these lessons would have made her smile! Life is full of learning experiences for kids and therapists!
A student with any type of physical/visual/hearing or mental disability will be able to enjoy a part of each sensory field trip. The trips are designed where the child can be in any type environment and the teacher, therapist or parent can bring the field trip to them. That’s right, pack up all the experiences and bring it to the child. If you are in a school setting this can easily be taken to the self contained room for a group language lesson. Then use my scrapbook pages to make them an awesome bulletin board of their adventure!
The supplies needed for each trip are easy to gather together.
Two different level books are included as suggestions to read on each trip. Some books can be purchased electronically!
