What educators are saying

My students loved creating the booklet. This was a great template to use. We added additional information (drawings) to help reinforce the concepts.
If I could rate this resource higher than 5 stars, I would! Perfect tool for an intro to the study of atoms, molecules, and the periodic table. The students loved this as much as I did - great for ease of learning and studying. Excellent!

Description

This tabbed flip book is a flexible way to introduce (or review) the parts of an atom, atomic number, atomic mass, electron shells, ions, and isotopes. The pages are sized for an interactive notebook. You can have students cut out and staple them together as a tabbed flip book, or you can give students one page at a time as bell work on the day after teaching a topic, or as a way to introduce the topic on the day of your lesson. The individual pages could be permanently attached on just one side to an interactive notebook page, where they would also serve the purpose of increasing the area that can be used for drawings, notes or etc. The booklet would also work well as a take-home study guide before a test or quiz. A teacher key is included. Also included are several Bohr model diagrams for you to use for your own worksheets or PowerPoint presentations.

The pages are:

Parts of an atom

Atomic Number

Atomic Mass

Electron Shells

Ions and Isotopes

Please see the thumbnails and preview (where you can see all five pages in a size large enough to read).
