Astronomer's Workshop

This Powerpoint allows students to put on their "Astronomer hats" as they learn about day and night, sun and moon. Here, students are introduced to the changing cycle of the moon, the difference between night sky and day sky, and the rising and setting of the sun. At the end of each day in the three day unit, developmentally appropriate questions are posed. These questions can be used for class discussions, journal responses, or even blog posts. This documents requires no prep at all -- and will cover 3 days of science class.
